Saturday and Sunday of our trip were just as jam-packed as the first two. Saturday we decided to take easy on ourselves after walking so much on Friday. We mainly stuck to our 3 hotel radius connected by the inner tunnels.
If you’ve never been to New York, New York you must go! There is an entire Coney Island type street with restaurants and the like. We trekked around and I bought a couple of fun hand towels at a store called “Stupidiotic”. What a fun store with oddball items you don’t find everywhere! I bought John a towel with a cow on it that says “I rub my own meat”. Perfect for his brisket cooking hands. Ha!
We ate a delicious steak dinner at The Luxor that evening and ventured back to Mandalay Bay to a little joint – 1923 Bourbon Bar. It’s like a hidden speakeasy! So fun! When the names are: Speakeasy Strange Rush, Gatsby’s Gin Fizz, Al Capone’s Mule Kick and Gangster’s Holy Grail – you have to try one. And they did not disappoint!
Sunday, we travelled down to Fremont Street. Now that is an experience. There are so many street performers. We walked up and down the street and went into Binion’s. We had our photo taken with a million dollars! Yep, $1,000,000.00. I decided to play the Goonies game while waiting for our photo to process and put $20 in, only to get a bunch of bonuses and additional free play games. I hit $280 pretty quick and played it for a couple of hours.
We then walked down to Container Park, which is a bunch of little stores and restaurants all made out of storage containers. How cool is that? Recycling at it’s best!
That evening we had tickets to Blue Man Group. All I can say is “What a Show”! These guys really know how to entertain from age 2-100. There were drums, lights, music, paintballs, art, puking and toilet paper. Lots and Lots of Toilet Paper! Afterwards we took our photo with a Blue Man and called it an evening.
What are your favorite places or things to do while in Vegas? Let me know, I’d love to hear from you!
Cheers!
